In an earlier column, Innovating upon Infrastructure ( Energy and Climate , November 2020), this author highlighted that a data abstraction layer in analytics was evolving to support data‐driven service provisioning within the utilities industry. This column builds upon this early infrastructure investment and offers a glimpse into the analytics use‐cases that support an evolving and increasingly complex electricity grid. This column will continue to explore the challenges utility analytics professionals face today.
