The Issue 05/2017 also features for the first time a coverage of the European conference series of the International Society for Microbial Electrochemistry and Technology (ISMET). This year it is a Topical Issue, which contains a selection of contributions presented at the 3rd European Meeting of the International Society for Microbial Electrochemistry and Technology (EU‐ISMET 2016, www.is‐met.org ), held 26–28 September 2016 in Rome (Italy) and chaired by Federico Aulenta. It is planned to extend to a full Special Issue (EU‐ISMET2017) in the upcoming year.
