The essential oils of the aerial parts of Argyranthemum adauctum ssp. adauctum , A. adauctum ssp. gracile and A. adauctum ssp. erythrocarpon were analysed by GC– MS. The major constituents were: for A. adauctum ssp. adauctum , caryophyllene oxide (12.4%), epi ‐α‐bisabolol (6.2%); for A. adauctum ssp. gracile , santolina triene (19.8%), chamazulene (7.8%); and for A. adauctum ssp. erythrocarpon , geranyl isovalerate (44.6%) and geranyl caproate (8.5%).
