The leaf essential oil of Arillastrum gummiferum (Brongriart & Gris) Pancher ex Baillon, obtained in 0.2‐0.3% w/w on a dry weight basis, consisted approximately 80% of (‐)‐limonene. Other monoterpene hydrocarbons, the principal members being α‐ and α‐pinene, accounted for approximately a further 9% of the oil. Caryophyllene (3‐7%) was the major sesquiterpene detected.
