Abstract Comprehensive GC‐MS analyses of the volatile oil from leaves of Ocimum canum Sims revealed the occurrence of eugenoi as the major constituent, in addition to 28 other compounds. Since methyl cinnamate, camphor, citral and linalol chemotypes of O. canum have previously been found, a new type is now being reported.
