The ascomycete Leptographium lundbergii Lag. et Mel. Ha2/82 was cultivated on a defined synthetic liquid medium. The accumulation of volatiles was determined over a culture period of 24 days by GC analysis of the steam distillates. Three sesquiterpene alcohols which had been identified as africanols were found to be the major constituents. Besides these, several components could be characterized as sesquiterpene hydrocarbons by their GC‐MS data.
