Composition of the essential oil of Centaurea huber‐morathii Wagenitz isolated from seeds by microdistillation

The volatile constituents of the seeds of Centaurea huber‐morathii Wagenitz (Asteraceae), obtained by microdistillation, were analysed by GC and GC–MS. Eighty‐five constituents were identified in the oil, with octanol (17.8%), hexadecanoic acid (8.0%), p ‐cymene (4.9%) and caryophyllene oxide (3.3%) as the major components.
