Composition of the volatile oil of Ferula persica Wild. (Umbelliferae) was investigated by GC and GC‐MS. Sixty‐one components representing 93.7% of the total oil were characterized. The major components of the oil were dill‐apiole (57.3%) and elemicine (5.6%). Copyright © 2005 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
