Volatile components of Centaurea cineraria L. subsp. umbrosa (Lacaita) Pign. and Centaurea napifolia L. (Asteraceae), two species growing wild in Sicily

The volatile components of the owerheads of Centaurea cineraria L. subsp. umbrosa (Lacaita) Pign. and Centaurea napifolia L. were obtained by hydrodistillation and identied by GC and GC–MS. Altogether 55 components were identied, mostly sesquiterpenes and hydrocarbons. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
