The essential oil of Ageratum conyzoides leaves was analysed by means of GC and GC–MS; 40 constituents—13 monoterpernoids (5.17%), 17 sesquiterpenoids (13.95%) and eight chromenes (71.05%)—were identified. Two of the chromenes, 6‐(1′‐ hydroxylethyl)‐2,2‐dimethyl chromene and 7‐hydroxyl‐2,2‐dimethylchromene, are, reported for the first time as constituents of A. conyzoides .
