Contribution to the systematic position of the extinct coniferous genus Doliostrobus MARION to wood anatomical point of view The wood anatomy of the genus Doliostrobus MARION of the Eocene Geiseltal is described. This genus is demarcated from all fossil and extant coniferous groups because of the combination of features “bordered pits abietoid, cells one‐storied rays important higher than middle standing cells more‐storied rays, and pits in the cross‐field doliostroboid”. Doliostrobus extinct without involvement as to evolution of the modern types.
