Ophioparma ventosa (L.) Norman, belonging to family Ophioparmaceae, a rare lichen species has been recorded for the first time from north east alpine Himalaya, India after the gap of more than hundred years, when it was first recorded by Leighton from Sikkim in the year 1879. This saxicolous species is found growing together with other saxicolous lichens and mosses.
