Pollen morphology of twelve species representing ten genera of subfamily Asteroideae‐Compositae (tribes Astereae, Calenduleae and Eupatorieae) was investigated using light and scanning electron microscopy. Pollen were studied to show all possible characteristic features like shape, size, apertures, wall stratification … etc., with special reference to the specific characters of each pollen type. Three pollen types were recognized viz Calenduleae pollen type, Grangeinae pollen type, and Conyza pollen type. Description of each type, a key to the investigated taxa as well as light and scanning electron microscope. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
