The leaf epidermis of 149 species from 47 genera of Asiatic Umbelliferae has been studied. For each species the form of the anticlinal walls of the epidermal cells, the presence of thick pitted walls, the composition of stomatal types, and the number of epidermal cells surrounding the stomata (neighbouring and subsidiary) have been recorded. The sto‐ matal types and the number of surrounding cells are of some taxonomic value in the genera and species groups in the family. (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
