The sculptures and shape of the outer walls of seed epidermal cells were studied in a broad material from different sources. Convex periclinal walls with several to many large prominent sculptures (verrucae) occurred most often but generally the sculpturing was rather diverse. Most variable were the anticlinal walls. Mostly they were undulated with different amplitudes and wavelengths and belonged to three types (S‐like, U‐like, and Omega‐like undulation). Also transitions between these types occurred.
