Valeriana andina Britton and Valeriana mandonii Britton , described from Bolivia, cannot strictly be separated by reliable distinctive characters. Therefore Valeriana andina Britton is included into Valeriana mandonii Britton as follows: V. mandonii Britton subsp. andina ( Britton) Weberling stat. nov. The descriptions of Valeriana tuberifera Graebn . and V. bulbosa Wedd . were completed and reliable diagnostic characters between both species were accentuated. Valeriana fonckii Phil . (not: fonkii ) is the correct spelling of the species described by R. A. Philippi (1856) in honor to his friend Dr. Franz Fonck. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
