The subgenus Wichuraea of Bomarea (Alstroemeriaceae) was recently revised by Hofreiter & Tillich (2003). A new species, Bomarea peruviana Hofreiter , sp. nova, was col‐lected by Weigend et al. in Peru in the Departments Ancash and Cajamarca. The new species belongs to the Glaucescens (Northern) group within Wichuraea . (© 2004 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
