Fruit morphology and anatomy is studied in Eversmannia subspinosa and, for comparison, in several species of the genus Hedysarum L. Fruits of Eversmannia Bge. in contrast with fruits of Hedysarum , do not break up into closed one‐seeded articles. The fruits of Eversmannia are rather dehiscent than lomentaceous. Although the fruits of Eversmannia and Hedysarum considerably differ from each other in the way of seed dispersal, the pericarp of the two has the same basic structure. Diagnostic characters of the tribe Hedysareae are discussed.
