New combinations and synonyms in Achillea sect. Santolinoideae (Compositae – Anthemideae) from North Africa and Turkey

On the basis of morphological and geographical features, A. wilhelmsii C. KOCH subsp. santolinoides (LAG.) VETSCHEREA & KÄSTNER subsp. wilhelmsii C. KOCH is proposed to be included as a subspecies of A. wilhelmsii C. KOCH comb, et stat. nov. Achillea boissieri HAUSSKN. ex BOISS., being known only from the type specimen, was found be to morphologically identical to A. teretifolia WILLD. and is thus regarded as a new synonym of this species. Growth forms, morphological characters and the geographic distribution are presented in detail; ecological features are briefly addressed.
