Scanning Electron Microscopic studies of seed surface are made in Acacia catechu, A. leucophloea, A. senegal, Albizia lebbeck, Dichrostachys cinerea, Leucaena leucocephala and Pithocellobium dulce. All the species showed a rugose type of spermoderm pattern. However each species has its own characteristic pattern, the arrangement, size and shape of the rugae varied according to species.
