A preliminary world‐wide key to eight sections and 36 species of the gasteromycete genus Calvatia FR. emend. KREISEL is presented, and a list of specimina visa is added. — Handkea wandae SKIRG. 1991 is regarded as a synonym of H. lycoperdoides KREISEL.
