Taxonomic investigations on the species of the genus Euphorbia , the largest genus of flowering plants represented in Egypt, are carried out. Five taxa are new records to those reported by EL‐HADIDI (1974): Euphorbia indica, E. Schimperi, E. hierosolymitana, E. sintenisii , and E. terracina var. modesta. The new status and combination E. terracina var. alexandrina is formed. A key, annotated enumeration of species, distribution and ecology are also provided.
