The paper deals with the behaviour of parameters of wood rays over stem's transverse section as to be found in selected publications as well as in their continuance over the stem length according to own additional investigations. Considered are height, number and portion of uniseriate rays in peripherical wood of the mature tree species Pinus silvestris L., Picea abies , (L.) KARST ., Pseudotsuga menziesii (MIRB.) FRANCO , Larix decidua MILL ., and Taxodium distichum RICH . With increasing tree height ray height decreases, number of rays more or less increases, and ray portion decreases only with Pinus silvestris and Picea abies .
