Twenty four species of the lichen genus pyrenula having Pyrenula mastophora type of spores are described. Pyrenula bilirana VAINIO, P. cinereovelata VAINIO, P. comirana VAINIO, P. costaricensis MUELL.‐ARG. , P. fuscolurida VAINIO, P. limae VAINIO, P. melaleuca MUELL.‐ARG., P. microcarpoides MUELL.‐ARG., P. obscurior VAINIO and P. santensis (NYL.) MUELL.‐ARG. are new records for Indian lichen flora.
