Considered are annual ring width and latewood portion on the one side and fibres' transverse section values from earlywood and latewood and the corresponding compression wood/normal wood‐ratio on the other. In the case of intermitting annual increments noticed on the upper side of the branch as well as on stem wood of Oregon Pine causal interpretations of this phenomenon are given and may serve for discussion.
