Morphological data were acquired from herbarium and living specimens belonging to 14 native species of Erodium . Specimens were scored for 12 vegetative, 2 inflorescence, 18 floral and 17 fruit characters. The data were analysed using cluster analysis and which enabled the distinction of two main groups: Plumosa and Erodium. Plumosa group is classified into three subgroups: Crassifolea, Oxyrrhynchea and Glaucophyllea , while Erodium group is distinguished into five subgroups viz: Gruinea, Ciconea, Pulverulentea, Laciniatea and Cicutarea .
