Internet of Things (IoT) can make people's lives more convenient, and is particularly important for people with disabilities. The IoT technology will certainly give to people with disabilities its contribution to improve their living conditions, helping them to achieve more autonomy and independence. This work provides a taxonomy for IoT architectures and the IoT requirements when applied to help people with disabilities. Additionally, it also proposes a specific IoT architecture for disabled people. The proposed IoT architecture complies with current IoT Articles and specifications. The IoT architecture tries to encompass the perspectives of healthcare stakeholders and generic requirements that are necessary for this sort of applications. At the end, the article points out the challenges for designing IoT architectures for people with disabilities.
