Previous surveys of the stream network in an area of blanket peat moorland in the Southern Pennines, England, are reassessed with reference to the publication of a new ordnance survey 1:10000 Metric Edition map for the area. It is concluded that a significant number of low order streams are still omitted on the new map, and that the use of field surveys remains essential in such heavily dissected terrain.
