Coupled heat and mass transfer with double moving interfaces, taking place in a porous half‐space, is defined, and exact solutions for the temperature and moisture distributions as well as the positions of two moving fronts are obtained. As in Part 1 of the paper, the interest is focused on the case of moderate vacuum environment pressure where the moisture transfer is due to the result of the vapour concentration and pressure gradients. The effect of the surface pressure and the introduced parameter β 2 on the moisture transfer is analysed. Conclusions are drawn on the basis of the results.
