This paper presents the experimental study of batch combustion of Thai lignite and pyrolysed electrode carbon in spouted bed and spout-fluid bed combustors. The combustion behaviours of evolved coal volatiles and char particle fragmentation are also investigated and compared with pyrolysed electrode carbon
