The work is concerned with building and testing a prototype heat pump incorporating thermochemical energy storage. The heat pump was designed to utilize the cheap ‘Economy 7’ electric tariff. The CaCl 2 /H 2 O/NH 3 system was used as a storage medium and ambient air as a heat source. Both heat pumping and regeneration phases were demonstrated.
