Domestic water‐heaters are studied as non‐steady‐state flow devices. The temperature of the liquid at the exit of the apparatus is predicted as a function of time for two cases: (i) one heater, (ii) two heaters in series each with half capacity and power input. The outlet temperature is higher in case (ii) until the inversion time is reached, after water has been used for several minutes.
