In this paper a transient model is developed to investigate the performance of a plastic water bag—as a water heating device under various climatic conditions. Experiments are performed and the theoretical results are validated with the experimental ones. The agreement is found to be quite good. Further studies are made with the water bag under different draw‐off conditions, namely: (i) summer, complete draw off at 50°C, 55°C and 60°C, (ii) autumn, complete draw off at 40°C, 45°C and 50°C, (iii) winter, complete draw off in the evening.
