Abstract The transient heat transfer model of a solar air heater is developed and the resulting system is solved by using an explicit finite difference technique. the solar radiation data and the ambient temperature have been represented by a Fourier series in the numerical calculation. the effects of various design parameters of the heater on its performance are studied.
