A small through‐the‐wall heat pump unit has been developed and tested to provide information on the problems associated with such machines. It is an air‐to‐air heat pump based on refrigeration components and is designed to supply sufficient heat for one room of a dwelling. the evaluation has been carried out in an experimental test facility built specifically to handle air source heat pumps.
