This study is an attempt to formulate figures of merit (FOMs) for pyroelectric energy‐harvesting devices that include the material's physical properties (pyroelectric coefficient, density, and heat capacity) along with dimensions of the material (thickness and area). The figures of merit are reported for pyroelectric generators using a scaling method, and these FOMs are slightly different from existing reported FOMs, likely due to the consideration of convective heat losses during materials heating. These losses have significant importance in pyroelectric energy‐harvesting applications which had not been previously considered in the existing FOMs reported in the literature. Such FOMs can be directly used for materials selection as well as for efficient device design for pyroelectric energy harvesting applications.
