More than half of secondary institutions reported a rise in student activism in students bound for college, according to data from two surveys conducted by the National Association for College Admission Counseling. One survey studied trends in high school students as reported by secondary school counselors. A complementary survey was administered to university admissions officers and institutional researchers to determine trends in admission.
