Employers want to know what skills or competencies people have, said Jonathan Finkelstein, chief executive officer of Credly. Transcripts and diplomas are not transparent enough to tell them what they want to know. In fact, 83 percent of employers prefer digital credentials over transcripts when assessing employee readiness, he said.
