In this work, a mathematical model of the biosynthesis of cephalosporin C by Acremonium chrysogenum is presented. It is based on the intracellular and extracellular concentrations of cephalosporin C and its precursors and the activities of the intracellular enzymes of the biosynthesis which were determined experimentally in the laboratory, as well as on data reported in the literature.
