The molecular relationships between electrophoretic variants of different bacteria, defined in two‐dimensional electrophoretic profiles of acid phosphatase, esterases, glutamate dehydrogenase and malate dehydrogenases, were analyzed by combined isoelectric focusing‐electrophoresis. The mobility curves of enzymes confirmed the monomorphism of variants showing identical isoelectric point (p I ) and relative electrophoretic mobility (M F ) values and refined the polymorphism analysis of variants showing distinct p I and/or M F values.
