In the classical electrotransfer conditions from sodium dodecyl sulfate‐polyacrylamide gels, calmodulin fails to bind to nitrocellulose membranes. However, under conditions favorizing hydrophobic interactions such as a higher salt concentration, calmodulin can be immobilized on nitrocellulose sheets, thus allowing detection in a complex protein mixture.
