A previous design of an apparatus for extraction and concentration of proteins from gel slices by moving boundary electrophoresis has been simplified, making it into an upper buffer reservoir accessory for the multifunctional gel tube apparatus commonly used for gel electrophoresis. The design of the collection cup has been improved to facilitate assembly and thereby reduce the risk of leakage. The performance of the apparatus was evaluated by the isolation from sodium dodecyl sulfate ‐ polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of radiolabeled bovine serum albumin and glucagon receptor.
