Abstract Electrochromatographic studies of several metal ions on lanthanum antimonateimpregnated papers have been carried out. Various background electrolytes were used for these studies at different voltage and time intervals. On the basis of the differential mobilities of metal ions, which depend on the ion exchange properties of lanthanum antimonite and the nature of complex formation with the electrolytes, some important binary and ternary separations have been achieved.
