The analysis of residual styrene in terpolymers of acrylonitrile, butadiene and styrene (ABS) by a rapid electroanalytical method is described. The sample is simply dissolved in N , N ‐dimethylformamide containing an excess of electrolyte and analysed by square wave voltammetry on a gold microdisk electrode; the styrene content is determined using the standard addition technique.
