Methods that enable the preparation of cation sensitive polymer‐coated microelectrodes have been developed. The analytical utility of these electrodes has been demonstrated with the detection of aluminum in flowing solutions. Detection limits in the low ppb range have been obtained. The response for several potentially interfering cations was evaluated.
