Abstract The values of liquid junction potentials ( E lj ) between the saturated KCl solution in Ag/AgCl electrode and NaOH solutions (0.8–3.0 mol/L), as well as between NaOH solutions of different concentrations were determined at 20°C using Hg/HgO electrodes. The E lj value obtained can be as high as 20mV and its calculation by Henderson equation is not accurate enough.
