The study concerns a very sensitive electroanalytical method, based on derivative chronopotentiometry of the chromium( III ) complex with 2‐(5′‐bromo‐2′‐pyridylazo)‐5‐diethyl aminophenol (5‐Br‐PADAP) accumulated adsorptively on the surface of a hanging mercury drop electrode. The detection limit is 6 × 10 −11 mol/L for a preconcentration time of 6 min. The mechanism of the electrode reaction has been investigated in detail.
