Abstract An amperometric phenol sensor, where Pseudomonus putida bacteria were immobilized on an amperometric oxygen sensor is described. Theoretical considerations of the steady‐state concentration distribution of oxygen and substrate in diffusion‐controlled microbial sensors are given. Validation of the theory was evaluated by comparing the experimental and theoretical data.
