The adsorptive voltammetric behavior of the Rh III –2–(5–bromo–2–pyridylazo)–5–diethylaminophenol (5–Br–PADAP) complex was studied with the linear scan technique in a solution of 0.01 mol/L NaOAc‐0.07mol/L HOAc–35% ethanol (supporting electrolyte, pH 4.2).A very sensitive and selective adsorptive stripping voltammetric method for the determination of Rh is described. The proposed method can be used for determining trace rhodium in the concentration range 7.8 × 10 −9 –9.7 × 10 −7 mol/L without interference from other noble metal ions. At the same time, a simple oscillopolarographic procedure for determining Rh in the same electrolyte is also proposed.
