On the basis of the acetylthiocholine iodide hydrolysis, catalyzed by the enzyme acetylcholinesterase and leading to an electroactive product, an amperometric sensor is developed. An electrochemically modified graphite electrode is used, with acetylcholinesterase covalently linked directly on its surface. The kinetic parameters of the enzymatic reaction, in the presence and in the absence of inhibitors, are determined using an electrochemical approach.
